SUPERARE perspectives
Urban Mining Furniture
POP UP Concept

What do we perceive as waste and
why? Could we change the perception of waste and turn it into resources? How can a space and the way it is used guide the user to see things from different perspectives?

The popup exhibitions intention is to showcase objects through different perspectives ans lenses. Questioning what we perceive as waste and portraying a material once disgarded and viewed as waste in different forms and new materialities.

The location is an open space where the popup exhibition uses temporary materials and setups to create spaces within the space, highlighting and dividing the space ith light, shadows and textiles to create a path with different views and perspectives in objects.

Inspired by forms and patterns in the classical Medditerannian floor tiles, the open construction of traditional ceiling beams and the simple interior decor with a mix of vibrant colors and earthy tones that are a red thread througout the apartment. The creative process in this situation starts with the materials - indentifying residues and recognising potential in what others view as waste. This opted other ways of finding solutions of design, construction and visual idientity.

Three large curtains in a half circle shape are placed in the room dividing the space into smaller sections leading to an automatically different flow in the room, together with lights, shadows and objects it creates a path to be followed and objects are ‘framed’ into focus. While walking through the path of the room the viewer gets to see the objects from different perspectives, sometimes only a glimpse - opening uo the mind for interpretation before viewing the full object.
